There’s something special about Doodle Dogs. They’ve taken the world by storm, and it’s not hard to see why! These charming creatures are a mix of two or more beloved dog breeds, and they’re known for their playful personalities and adorable looks. If you’re thinking about adding a Doodle to your family, you’re making a great decision! In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at these popular dogs and discuss why they’ve become so popular in recent years.
Doodles are a relatively new breed of dog, and yet they’re already one of the most popular breeds in the world! Part of their appeal is their unique look; Doodles are a mix of two different dog breeds, always a Poodle and another type of dog like a Lab, Bernese Mountain Dog or Golden Retriever. This combination creates a dog that is often smaller than its parent breeds, with a soft, curly coat. They also tend to inherit the best traits of both parent breeds, resulting in dogs that are intelligent, active, friendly, healthy with low-shedding, hypo-allergenic coats.
Another reason why Doodles are so popular is their personality. These dogs are known for being incredibly friendly and outgoing, and they love to play! If you’re looking for a dog who will be your best friend and provide endless hours of fun, a Doodle is a great choice.
So, what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for a fun-loving, adorable dog to add to your family, a Doodle is a perfect choice! Learn more about these popular pups and find out if they’re right for you.

Six types of Doodles
The Labradoodle is a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Standard Poodle. The Labradoodle is an energetic, friendly dog that loves to play games and please their owners. One confusing and important fact about Labradoodles is that they actually originate from Australian Labradoodles and now the term Labradoodle has become a bit of a misnomer, meaning that when people think of a Labradoodle, they are often thinking of an Australian Labradoodle, which has been very specifically bred, not a Lab/Poodle mix. Multi-generational Australian Labradoodles are four or more generations of Australian bloodlines bred to Australian bloodlines. Australian Labradoodle bloodlines are different because there are different infusions of different breeds mixed into the lab and poodle mix to make a highly trainable, hypo-allergenic dog. A Lab/Poodle mix is simply a Lab bred to a Poodle, which has a very inconsistent coat and a sometimes a very different temperament. The wiry coat of the lab is much harder to overcome through breeding than the softer coat of a Golden Retriever or a Bernese Mountain dog Doodle mix, so it’s important when shopping for this particular Doodle, that you look for the Australian Labradoodle breeders, especially if you need a hypo-allergenic dog. There is also a registry specifically for the Australian Labradoodle called the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA). Here is link to their website for more information about this amazing Doodle: https://alaa-labradoodles.com/for-breeders/breed-standard/ The Australian Labradoodle is the only Doodle breed we have found that has an official registry that holds breeders accountable for the health testing of breeding dogs, vet care for labradoodle puppies and a health guarantee for buyers.

The Bernedoodle is a mix between a Standard Poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog. The Bernedoodle is an increasingly popular Doodle due to the fact that it does not shed. The combination of the soft Bernese Mountain Dog coat with the Poodle has proven to produce a non-shedding coat after a first generation breeding of Poodle to Bernese Mountain Dog. If dog allergies are a concern for your family, be sure to choose one with a curlier coat. These dogs can be a bit shy in temperament, but incredibly sweet, loving and loyal to their families. Their size range can vary from 20 lbs to 90 lbs depending on the sizes of the parents and the generation of Bernedoodle you are buying. The black tri-color coat consists of primarily black with white, red or tan markings. Bernedoodles are also available in sable and lighter colors, depending on the genetics of the parents.
The Goldendoodle is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. The Goldendoodle is an intelligent, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Size can be the biggest issue with this mix. If you breed a Standard Poodle to a Golden Retriever, you are sure to get a huge dog, in the 100 lbs range. If the breeder uses a toy poodle with a Golden retriever, you will could end up with a 75 lbs dog or a 10 lbs dog or something in between. One great way to get more consistency in size and coat is to buy from a breeder that is breeding a Goldendoodle (first generation retriever to poodle) back to a poodle that is in the size range you want (whatever size you want, look to the sizes of the parents). This is how you can ensure you are getting the size you want and it also helps to improve the consistency in the coat of the dog.

Aussiedoodles are a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Standard Poodle. They are also known as Aussiepoos. This Doodle is bred in order to get the best of both worlds – the brains of the Poodle and the athleticism of the Aussie. The coat of an Australian Shepherd is very high shedding, allergenic and wiry. It is a coat that is hard to overcome with just a first generation breeding. It is important to look for an Aussiedoodle that is at least a second generation if you have allergy concerns. One other important consideration with this Doodle is that Australian Shepherds are highly intelligent herding dogs and they need a job, so they will be active. These dogs should live in homes where they have lots of room to run and owners that are committed to training them, that’s what super intelligent dogs need and it takes time and consistency.
The Cavapoo is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature Poodle. The Cavapoo is a small, gentle dog that is great with children and other pets. The Cavapoo’s coat is usually soft and curly, and can be either long or short, depending on how you groom them. Cavapoos come in a variety of colors, including black, white, brown, and red. These sweet dogs are cuddle bugs and want to be loved on and held.
The Cockapoo is a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. The Cockapoo is a small to medium-sized dog with a gentle disposition. The Cockapoo’s coat is usually soft and curly, and can be either long or short. Cockapoos come in a variety of colors, including black, white, brown, and red. Their temperaments are typically friendly and loving with their families.

The Maltipoo is a cross between a Maltese and a Toy Poodle. The Maltipoo is a small, affectionate dog that makes a great lapdog. The Maltipoo’s temperament is similar to the Maltese, but they do not shed. These are very smart, loving little dogs that can be easily trained. They are eager to please their families and most people that they meet. These are social dogs for the most part and absolutely adorable!
